The Victorian Health Complaints Commissioner issues the following General Health Service Warning Statement under section 87 of the Health Complaints Act 2016.

On 28 May 2020, I commenced a Commissioner-initiated investigation into Quality Cancer Care, Bendigo. This followed concerns raised with my office with respect to the healthcare and treatment provided by Quality Cancer Care to its patients.

I believe that Quality Cancer Care may have contravened the Code of Conduct as set out in Schedule 2 of the Health Complaints Act 2016, and that it is necessary to publish the warning statement to alert the public.

I have also issued an Interim Prohibition Order against Quality Cancer Care, a copy of which can be accessed on our website at www.hcc.vic.gov.au

Members of the public who have any concerns about this or any other health services are urged to contact the Health Complaints Commissioner by calling 1300 582 113 or by completing an online complaint at www.hcc.vic.gov.au/make-complaint

In addition to contacting the Health Complaints Commissioner, a hotline has been established and former patients of Quality Cancer Care at Bendigo who are concerned about their diagnosis or treatment of skin cancer can call 03 5454 6357 Monday to Friday between 9:00am and 5:00pm for further information.
